The Department of Public Health organized Public Health Open Day

The Department of Public Health organized  a ‘Public Health Open Day’ with an objective to foster the importance of public health education and to interact with public health professionals,  which was held on Monday, 15 April  2019 in the Digital Class Room #303, level 3 of Daffodil Tower, Daffodil International University (DIU). 

Along with all the faculty members of the Department of the Public health, fifty four (54) public health professionals including 10 alumni attended the Public Health Open Day Program. Professor Dr. Hafiz T.A. Khan, International Advisor of DIU and Professor of Public Health & Statistics at the University of West London and Associate Research Fellow of the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, The University of Oxford, UK was the Keynote Speaker while Dr. Salim Khan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health of Birmingham City University, UK was the Special Guest of the program. Professor Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid, Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health presided over the session.

Dr. ABM Alauddin Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of Public Health, DIU welcomed the audience and talked about MPH Programme at DIU. Professor Dr. Hafiz T.A. Khan in his open lecture highlighted the progress on launching the Daffodil International University (DIU) and Birmingham City University (BCU) MPH Degree Validation Program and he pointed out the importance of the program as well.

Dr. Salim Khan in his speech covered the following issues: importance of public health degree, cost structure, credits, implementation process of the Degree Validation Program. In the ‘Question & Answer’ Session which was highly interactive, Professor Dr. Hafiz T.A. Khan, Dr. Salim Khan and Professor Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid have given the answers of various questions raised by the audience regarding the DIU-BCU MPH Degree Validation Program.

Professor Dr. Harun-Ar-Rashid in his concluding remarks expressed his sincere thanks to Professor Dr. Hafiz T.A. Khan and Dr. Salim Khan for their comprehensive deliberations on MPH Degree Validation Program. He also thanked the audience for their presence, attention and interaction. Professor Rashid concluded the program with an expectation of the successful implementation of the Degree Validation Program.
