Harun-Ar-Rashid, Professor 
Professor Harun-Ar-Rashid is a medical doctor and completed his MD, MSc, PhD, DPM, MPH, MBA and FRCP from abroad. He has long work experience as the Director of Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC). Besides this, he has been engaged in different top level executive and advisory positions in national as well as international organizations during his professional life. Professor Harun was included in the list of 2000 outstanding scientists of the twentieth century by the International Biographical Association, Cambridge, England. For his contribution to health science, Professor Rashid received the "Gold Medal" of Bangladesh Academy of Sciences in 2004, awarded by the Honorable President of Bangladesh. Professor Harun desired to work at DIU as he found it well-equipped to implement his expertise and research experience. His areas of interests are Public Health research management specially in the fields of Epidemiology and Bioethics.

Md. Shahjahan, Associate Professor
Md. Shahjahan completed his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Statistics from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has had a long career in the field of public health research and teaching with different national and international organizations. He had occupied several positions in different organizations and gained substantial knowledge of classroom teaching. Bio-statistics and public health research are his main interests. Salamat Khandker, Associate Professor
Salamat Khandker is a medical doctor and completed his MBBS and MD from the Free University of Berlin. He was awarded a Master of Science in Community Health and Health Management in Developing Countries from the University of Heidelberg. He worked more than 17 years under the World Health Organization (WHO). He presented scientific papers in many international workshops and seminars.  Khandker wished to join this Department as it is an ideal place to explore professional experience in a diversified field and conduct research in public health. His interests are occupational and environmental health.

A.B.M. Alauddin Chowdhury, Associate Professor
Dr. Alauddin Completed Bachelor of Social Science (B.S.S.-Honours) and Master of Social Science (M.S.S.) in Sociology from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He accomplished PhD degree from the Department of Global Health and Epidemiology under Social Medicine Cluster of Hokkaido University, Japan. He was Research Fellow in the Department of Health for Senior Citizens at the same university of Japan. Dr. Alauddin is affiliated as Faculty Member of this Department since 2013. He is also serving as Associate Managing Editor in the Editorial Board of the Daffodil International University Journal of Allied Health Sciences (DIUJAHS). His fields of interest are socio-medical research, medical anthropology, nutrition and mental health.

Nadira Mehriban, Assistant Professor
Nadira Mehriban completed her MBBS from Bangladesh Medical College and Master's in Public Health (MPH-Reproductive Health) from the State University of Bangladesh. She completing a second Master's in Public Health (MPH- Epidemiology) from North South University. Nadira has been a full-time faculty member since the inception of the Department. Her special interest is reproductive and child health.

Md. Imdadul Haque, Lecturer (Senior Scale)
Md. Imdadul Haque gained BSS (Hons.) and MSS in Anthropology from the University of Chittagong and Master's in Public Health (MPH) from Daffodil International University. He received the Chancellor's Gold Medal for his outstanding academic performance in MPH.  He has more than 8 years prior working experience as a Sr. Health Professional at the Health, Nutrition and Population Program in Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (BRAC) and at Research Division in National Institute of Population Research and Training (NIPORT).  His areas of interest is public health teaching and research, specially in the fields of Epidemiology and Mental Health.
